Attempt at Creativity

This is something I've been meaning to do for a while, but forgot all about. However after being re-inspired, and due to my wish to expand my ever-growing list of ways to procrastinate from uni work, here we are.

I wanted to make a collage of memorabilia from our honeymoon. When going through all the stuff, I remembered I also bought a bunch of post-cards from nearly every place we went, so now I have enough for two large frames. They're definitely not finished yet but I thought I would show where I was up to anyway. I'm very picky so it may actually be some time before I get them to how I want.

This one is from tickets, maps, guides etc. from Greece, Italy and the UK. Currently I think there's too much white, and kinda just looks like a school project. (click to enlarge)

These are all the postcards I bought, I am having a lot of trouble arranging them to how I'd like!
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

P.S. It's now finished! Check here for the result :)

  1. Shadow boxes are always cool. Or maybe you could pick some pretty fabric and put it as the background in a large frame and then put the pictures on top. Just an idea..

  2. Yay! You did it! You could always make a decorative table like this: http://thecraftypunk.com/?p=13

I've always wanted to do that.

  3. So cool! I love this idea. I didn't bring home many memorability from our honeymoon, but lately I've been thinking about making a photo album of our pictures.

  5. You can ether use some cute patterned fabric as the base of the posters and solid colored ribbons as the frames for all the tickets and maps etc. Plus you can also spread them more across the poster so you can let the fabric behind them show through. Or another idea would be to Mod Podge them on a night stand or a coffee table and treasure them for years. Either way can't wait to see the final result! Oh and I am now following you thanks to Thirsty Thursday, and it would be so nice if you could share the love back on my blog;)

  6. Beautiful memory board! You could always add a couple of pictures to it to take away from the white! Or sometimes I put a map in the background so that if there's space in the background you see a map. But I think it looks nice!

  8. I have always wanted to do something with all the things I have from overseas. But they just sit in a box in the bottom of my cupboard. Quite pathetic. You could always put the postcards in individual frames and hang them on a wall as a big collective 'mural' type thing. Wow that was such a great explanation. Haha. Sorry.
