...I got accepted to the neuroanatomy course in September! This is the most excited I've been in ages. The course sounds super interesting (even if it is only for 1 week), and I'm so grateful that my flights will be reimbursed and accommodation is sorted. The scary part is the flying (which, while I'm better at I still don't love), and the potentially organising meetings/job interviews while there.
That's my main news for now, so here a picture of a castle near the place I'm going in Wales - perhaps I'll get to cross off my 30 before 30 item #17: visit another castle!

P.S. Did anyone see the Transit of Venus today? I did, it was awesome, and made me decide to add an astronomy degree to my just-for-fun medieval history degree I plan to do when I'm an old retired person with nothing else to do. If you missed it, don't worry, it happens again only 105 years from now :P
Congratulations on getting onto the course :D Hope you get to visit Penrhyn Castle - it looks amazing! Conwy Castle is up that way too, and is also very beautiful from the outside - I've not been in it myself, but apparently it's well worth the visit, so maybe you can squeeze in two castle trips :)
ReplyDeleteOoh two castles are even better than one castle! I will check it out :)
DeleteCongrats again to you! I freakin' missed the transit, so now I have to live a lot longer than I was planning.
ReplyDeleteWow! Good for you for you continued pursuit in your education! And it's awesome that you get to visit a real castle! I've never been in one before, perhaps I should make that a 30 before 30 as well :)
ReplyDeleteEnjoy Wales. I did my undergrad law degree there! ;-)
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! Wales is super duper fun. There's one town where there's actually a train with Thomas the Tank Engine as the tank engine! Unfortunately, I can't remember what it's called though, because it was in Welsh...and really, really, long. But you must take lots and lots of pictures! :)
ReplyDeleteYay! Wales! You should definitely take pictures with a toy Whale everywhere... hahahahahahaha.
ReplyDeletehahah I like that idea!
DeleteCongratulations! How exciting! I don't really like flying or airports, I wish there were a quicker/easier/more instant way to get to other countries. And yay for getting to cross things off your list and experience such exciting things. I'm so excited for you.
ReplyDeletePS I didn't find the weather is Sydney too cold - especially given that we've been down to -4, -5 here in Canberra. This morning was much warmer though, about 3 degrees.
Haha yeh when's teleporting happening hey!
DeleteWell I suppose in comparison then to Canberra Syd must have been pretty good!
