30 Days of Movies - 2. The Last Movie You Watched

An oldie (well not super old but whatever), but a nice sweet film for a rainy day: While You Were Sleeping. Usually I hate movies where there's some misunderstanding or someone is lying, and you're essentially waiting until they're found out, e.g. Mrs Doubtfire (ducks while people throw things - sorry but it makes me cringe the whole time!). However somehow, in this movie I allow it.

If you haven't seen it, essentially Sandra Bullock's character saves a guy from getting hit by a train, and he's in a coma. She is mistaken to be his fiancee, and the guy's family all start inviting her to everything and involving her in their lives - all while this coma man is sleeping. One of the great things about this movie is the supporting characters - especially the grandmother and the neighbour.

Also there's this one part that gets me everytime:

Questions:
Have you seen this movie? Like/dislike?

  1. I also hate movies like that! ("where there's some misunderstanding or someone is lying, and you're essentially waiting until they're found out.") I thought I was the only one. I've only seen this movie once, but I think it did make me cringe. Sorry. I think the only exception to that rule I've found so far is IQ because I love the hilarious old men.

  2. I love the crap out of this movie. Even though Sandra Bullock wears nothing but clothes that make her look like a homeless person. Deidre and I decided the awesomeness of this movie is due at least in part to Bill Pullman's hair. That dude had magical hair in the 1990s...

  3. Yes, as Melbourne on my mind has already pointed out, I LOVE this movie. It's irrational and complete love. I just find it really comforting. Bill Pullman (and his hair) are fantastic and the LEANING cracks me up everytime. oh, the leaning.

  4. I haven't seen this movie, but I'll add it to the list. I just finished watching the end bit of Mermaids... meh. I agree with the no lying/cheating bit.
